Day One

After hearing about an acquaintance's amazing results on Ideal Protein, I decided to give it a try. I'm not one to just jump head first into something, so I had my initial consult last week and then spent the week reading through all the materials and reading blogs and forums online before starting the actual diet today.

Food Diary.....

Breakfast: IP Maple Oatmeal - not impressed at all with the flavor BUT it kept me full until lunchtime. I don't know if I'd get this one again or not.  Maybe if I could find something that I could use as an add in to it.....

Lunch: IP Chicken Soup -pretty yummy. I ended up mixing 2 cups of broccoli in it. I also had a plate full of lettuce with 1/2 of my olive oil allowance and some sea salt. Salad was kind of bland but I survived.

Dinner:  Big Mac Salad -  YUM!  I put a bunch of lettuce on a plate, crumbled 5 oz of lean ground beef over top, added some raw onions, chopped dill pickles, sea salt and two tablespoons of Walden Farms Thousand Island dressing.  I also ate 1.5 cups of broccoli (onions and dill pickles made up the other 1/2 cup)

Snack: Blueberry Cran-Granata Drink Mix - mixed thoughts on this.  My initial thought was it tasted like Robitussin cough syrup.  It's so-so and I might get it again just because it'll cure my craving for juice while on IP.

Thoughts and Ramblings......

In between breakfast and lunch, I wasn't hungry but felt extremely light headed. Having recent bouts of vertigo prior to starting IP, it made me a little nervous.  I laid on the couch watching baseball (Go Tigers!!) because of the lightheaded-ness and started feeling a little bit better.

My stomach started growling around 2:30pm. I knew the first few days were going to be rough, but I think tomorrow might be a little easier.  I ate an earlier than usual lunch because I thought it might help with the lightheaded-ness (but it didn't), so I went too long without food.  I didn't want to use my snack in between, because I thought I might need it tonight.  Dinner stuffed me COMPLETELY!

I wasn't really "hungry" for my snack in the evening, so I might need to play around with the timing of it. Maybe I can use it between lunch and dinner and push dinner time back a little bit (which might help considering we're in the middle of fall baseball games!)

I thought 64 oz of water was going to be hard to get all down, but I actually drank it all by dinner time.  Anything more I drink will be extra!
